Interior designing is a form of art that also serves the end user to experience their dream by using the space in their day-to-day life. The client puts all their trust and belief in the designer's hands before starting the project. I believe it's very important to start the project in the right process to make it successful.
These are the steps I follow for each project:
Customer engagement - MEET AND GREET
This is the first meeting to know your project in detail. I shall Prepare a questionnaire for you to cover other details that might have missed out on. This consultation also means you get the budget limits and your scope of work.
Contract - RETAINER FEE
After the initial meeting, the next step is getting the contract signed and agreed upon by you. Before proceeding with the project, I would request to get the retainer fees.
Site visit - SITE SURVEY AND MEASUREMENTS
Taking detailed photos and recording existing conditions. Also noting down small things on site to justify my design
Design plan - CONCEPTS
This stage involves creating mood boards, putting together design references, and creating different options for layouts. generate ideas in the form of sketches, photos, etc. Also depending on the agreement i will present the number of renders, revisions, and layout plans.
3D RENDERS - SCHEMATIC DESIGNS
Next comes establishing the big idea in the form of 3D renders. This step helps you visualize the space better and even as a designer you can put forth your ideas better.
DESIGN APPROVAL - SIGNED
At this stage, I come up with the refined version of the final designs. Get your approvals and signed by you. At this step, you have all your designs frozen, right from the color scheme, furniture, materials, lighting, and decor.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT - REFINEMENT
Here I take your concepts to the next level and develop them into drawings. This stage continues till almost the end of the project.
FITOUT AND EXECUTION - SITE SUPERVISION
Get the ball rolling, yes now is the time to get your vision into reality. Site supervision is another scope of work in the contract as a separate entity and a number of site visits per week or month.
QUOTES AND BUDGET AND SCHEDULE
A detailed BOQ and quotes that include each and every specification of the material used in your project is given to you. Detail schedules and scope of work for each work to be carried out on site will be given to you.
COMPLETION- MOVE IN
The end result is time to celebrate. So that's basically how the overall process works. I know, it's a lot of work and that's the reason you need a designer who can get your dream project to reality!
